Music Licensing & Usage

Effective 29 September 2026

This page explains what you may do with music you have bought from us. We have tried to be genuinely useful rather than vague, because teachers, churches and camps ask us this often.

What your purchase includes

Buying an album gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the recordings within your own household, for as long as you like. You are buying the right to listen, not ownership of the songs. We keep the copyright.

You may

  • Play the music at home, in the car, or anywhere your family listens.
  • Copy the files onto devices your household owns — phones, tablets, computers, MP3 players.
  • Load them onto screen-free players such as Yoto, Toniebox, Storypod, Voxblock, Jooki or Mighty Vibe.
  • Keep a personal backup copy.
  • Play the music to your own children’s friends who are visiting.

You may not

  • Give, sell, lend or upload the files to anyone outside your household.
  • Share your download links, or post the files on any website, cloud folder or file-sharing service.
  • Upload the music to YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Spotify or any other platform.
  • Use the music in videos, adverts, podcasts, apps or games, whether paid or free.
  • Play it as part of a paid, ticketed or public event.
  • Edit, remix, sample or make new versions of it.
  • Remove or alter credits, or claim the music as your own.

Teachers and homeschool families

A personal purchase covers one teacher using the music with their own class, and covers homeschooling your own children. Play songs in lessons, use them to introduce or reinforce a topic, or start a discussion.

It does not cover sharing the files with other teachers, loading them onto a school network or shared drive, or distributing them to students to keep. Each teacher needs their own copy — or ask us about a school licence, which is usually simpler and cheaper.

Schools, churches, camps, childcare and other organisations

If the music will be used beyond one household or one teacher’s classroom, you need an organisational licence. That includes assemblies, children’s programmes, Sunday school, nurseries, daycare, after-school clubs, camps, therapy and counselling settings, and anywhere the music is played to groups from more than one family.

These licences are straightforward and we would genuinely rather say yes than have you guess. Email [email protected] and tell us who you are, roughly how many children, and how you would like to use the music.

Public performance and broadcast

Playing our recordings at public events, on radio, on a livestream, or as part of a performance is not covered by a personal purchase. Contact us first — we can usually arrange it.

Using the music in videos

Synchronising our music with video — including school productions, church media, social posts and YouTube — needs written permission. This is the request we receive most, and we are happy to discuss it.

Credits

Where you are permitted to use our music publicly, please credit it as “Wonder Music Factory — wondermusicfactory.com” unless we agree otherwise.

Sharing the music the right way

If another family loves a song, please send them to our website rather than sending them the file. Recommendations are how a small independent project survives, and they are always appreciated.

Enforcement

Serious or repeated breaches may result in download access being withdrawn and the licence ending. We would always rather have a conversation first — if you are unsure whether something is allowed, just ask.
